STARA Technologies Corp has an immediate opening for a resourceful Controller to help lead us through our next stage of growth. This position will report directly to the President and will be a key partner and advisor to Leadership. The Controller will be responsible for assuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting; and will be a key player in the implementation of internal controls/compliance and processes for the company.

Core Responsibilities
 
  • Manages and directs all accounting functions to include general ledger accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, payroll/timekeeping, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Must have strong Costpoint hands-on knowledge to enable troubleshooting of items such as cost pool setup, revenue calculations, billing calculations, etc.
  • Must have a strong understanding of the WIP to Finished Goods process and Manufacturing/Purchasing Orders.
  • Serves as the focal point for all accounting, financial and cost accounting activities to include monthly close, project setup and financial reporting (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, financial results).
  • Utilizing GCS Premier and Costpoint, manages accounting services for assigned clients, is responsible for project management of accounting scheduling and manages DCAA audits
  • Acts as the point of contact with internal and external auditors.  Will provide hands-on assistance in DCAA audits including incurred cost submission schedule preparation.
  • Oversees indirect rate structures, budgets, forecasts, incurred cost submissions, variance analysis and manages the general ledger
  • Responsible for continuously assessing current operations to identify and implement efficiencies
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with and consistent application of all relevant accounting and regulatory rules, regulations and Company policies.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with finance and accounting processes, policies and procedures. Responsible for periodic reviews of policies and procedures and making any necessary updates. 
  • Responsible for continuously assessing current operations to identify and implement efficiencies. 
 
Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance, MBA and or CPA highly desirable
  • 10+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles
  • 8+ years of experience working for a government contractor
  • Strong knowledge of FAR and DCAA regulations and requirements
  • Manufacturing environment experience helpful
  • PC Proficiency including excel.
  • Proficiency in pricing methodology for government contracts
  • Proficiency in Deltek GCS Premier, Deltek Costpoint, Federal and State Taxes
  • Background in manufacturing atmosphere helpful and preferred but not required.
