Position Summary    

The Information Security Analyst will plan and carry out security measures to protect our organization’s computer systems.  This position will include providing support for all duties, including troubleshooting user connectivity, system/server monitoring and performance, and advanced support for employees and customers.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • 2-5 years of hands-on system administration and/or networking experience
  • Experience with PC performance problem resolution locally or via remote connection a plus
  • Ability to add, cards, hard drives and memory to laptops and PC’s
  • Knowledge of network resources i.e. shared drives
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate or Microsoft Certified IT Professional certification a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly organized with specific attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Able to multi-task and to accept and adapt to change quickly
  • Self-motivated individual who can meet the challenge of a paperwork-intensive environment
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Monitor systems for security breaches and investigate if one occurs
  • Install and use software, such as firewalls and data encryption programs, to protect sensitive information
  • Prepare reports that document security breaches and the extent of the damage caused by the breaches
  • Conduct penetration testing, which is when analysts simulate attacks to look for vulnerabilities in their systems before they can be exploited
  • Research the latest information technology (IT) security trends
  • Develop security standards and best practices for their organization
  • Recommend security enhancements to management or senior IT staff
  • Help computer users when they need to install or learn about new security products and procedures
  •  Help to support day-to-day operations to include troubleshooting of computers, desktops, applications, phones and other related issues
  • Recommend equipment and software upgrades as needed
  • Monitor daily backup operations, ensuring all system data is successfully backed up
  • Maintain user compliance with company policies
  • Work with employees to resolve hardware/software issues, spec IT requirements for services and meet expected IT service levels and standards
  • Ensure compliance with software license agreements
  • Create server environments in support of business infrastructure
  • Maintain network firewalls, switches, routers and Wi-Fi Access points
  • Other duties, as assigned
 Physical Demands & Work Environment 
  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • May occasionally be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
