Summary                                                                                                                                                                                                                   
The Director of Business Development will identify, qualify and win new business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining mutually beneficial business relationships with current and potential customers. The Director of Business Development will work closely with corporate executives and company senior managers. This position will leverage executive-level relationships to develop winning sales strategies to meet company and corporate financial goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field required; MBA preferred
  • 10-12 years of hands-on Business Development Management Experience working with US Government/DOD
  • Extensive capture management, bid and proposal experience
  • Deep familiarity with GovWin and FBO; Sales Force or Deltek CRM a plus
  • Military experience preferred
  • Experience with DOD program management a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint, Excel
  • Confidentiality and company loyalty are a must
  • Able to interface with VIP’s, senior military personnel, international executives, and others
  • Able to multi-task and to accept and adapt to change quickly
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and organizational skills
  • Good writing, technical, analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
 
Responsibilities
  • Identifies new business opportunities to build and maintain an accurate, realistic pipeline
  • Develops and achieves business plan related goals for revenue, bookings, and profit
  • Develops and implements business expansion plans and strategies
  • Recommends and manages domestic and international agreements
  • Develops strategic business relationships
  • Develops and executes opportunity specific capture plans and strategies
  • Ensures accurate and timely submission of winning proposals to build and maintain the backlog
  • Develops accurate and realistic business (bookings) forecast
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relations
  • Develops accurate resource requirements and departmental budgets
  • Prepares a strategic plan for the business development department
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • May occasionally be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
