Location: Gilbert, AZ                                                                                  Status: Full Time/ Exempt/Not Safety    
The Configuration/Data Manager is responsible for providing Configuration and/or Data Management ensuring the smooth flow of work and effectively identifying and managing technical data.  This position is responsible for performing highly skilled computer duties with expertise in basic database programs, data collection, data input, basic research, profiles, reports, and maintenance of records with highly developed organizational skills.
Experience and Skills
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • 2-4 years supervisory/management experience required
  • Ability to understand a Contract and Scope of Work (SOW)
  • Excellent skill & knowledge of CATIA/SolidWorks, Solid/Edge and AUTOCAD
  • Strong understanding of drafting procedures, Geometrical Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), ANSI/ASME standards, and experience with mechanical components and BOMs
  • Must be Knowledgeable in Drafting, Composite Modeling, and Surfacing
  • Able to translate data using IGES, Step, Model or other appropriate method
  • Knowledge in electronics, PC board and schematic layouts a plus
  • Proficient with measuring instruments
  • Familiar with hydraulics, tube bending, wire harnesses, fuel systems, composite lay-up, assembly and mill fixture tooling.
  • Meticulous accuracy and high speed in drafting work and recordkeeping
  • Familiar with PDM system (file management)
  • Self-driven, quick learner, analytical and problem solver
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be a team player, willing to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Prepare mechanical detail drawings by developing applications and calculations of castings, forgings, stampings, machined components, gears, cams, bearings, belt and drive chains, splines, linkages, hydraulics, and pneumatics; producing fit specifications and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Utilize 3D CAD software to draft detailed working drawings of assembly and piece parts from general design 3D models
  • Setup and preparation of detailed project drawings
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other Technicians to provide drawings on schedule
  • Recommend changes or modifications as appropriate
  • Modify and revise drawings to reflect design changes, correct errors and reduce production problems as required by Engineering Change Requests and Engineering Change Orders (ECRs/ECOs)
  • Perform design work and indicate important information necessary to make detailed drawings clear and complete
  • Understand critical geometric tolerances and fits
  • Reproduce, organize, and file drawings, specifications and procedures as needed
  • Interact with other departments and engineers to resolve problems and answer questions
  • Layer management and usage
  • Drawing scales as they relate to text, dimensions, lines, viewports, etc.
  • Prepare and model final layout, detail, and assembly drawings
  • Draft multiple views of mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, layouts, wiring diagrams, and associated bills of material
  • Work with engineering to identify problems with performance or tool life; recommend solutions or enhancements
  • Cross-sections and profiles
  • Prepares supporting information by developing bills of materials; standard parts and fasteners
  • Must be able to assemble Level 3 drawing packages
  • Follow safety precautions
  • Ensure that the work area and equipment are kept clean
  • Comply with established QMS procedures
  • Perform QA/QC on drawing files
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Work is performed in an office setting
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • May occasionally be required to life moderately heavy objects (up to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday
