Inventory Control Specialist
Position Reports To: VP of Engineering/Production                            Department:  Supply Management
Location:  Gilbert, AZ                                                                             Status:  Full Time/Salary/Exempt/Safety Sensitive
 
Summary                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
This position requires a blend of skills and experience that are specifically focused on the inventory management of several hundred merchandise items within one on-site warehouse.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s Degree desired
  • 5 – 8 years of hands-on Inventory Control experience
  • Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint preferred
  • Familiar with materials management databases
  • Familiar with ISO processes and procedures
  • Government materials management experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Detail oriented with strong follow through and organizational skills
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated individual who can meet the challenges of a paperwork-intensive environment
  • Able to multi-task and to accept and adapt to change quickly
  • Must be highly organized with specific attention to detail
  • Demonstrates the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately
  • Shows the ability to work well under pressure, such as when inventory deliveries or shipments become late or forgotten
  • Exhibits the ability to work well with others and maintain organization between cross-related departments
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
 
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates the outflow and inflow of inventory, as well as shipment, loading, and storage activities across the organization, including multiple locations and warehouses
  • Run a series of inventory reports on daily, weekly, or monthly basis and perform detailed analysis of item performance
  • Develop accurate, consistent, enhancements to the inventory reporting structure
  • Maintain and support identified inventory level and report on their accuracy
  • Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures
  • Perform inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy and timely execution and adjustments (quantity and price variance analysis)
  • Perform visual verification of received merchandise to description and package details from original purchase order
  • Facilitate the RMA (Return Material Authorization) process. Includes item documentation, tracking, adjusting and/or destroying
  • Input product description information in current inventory and internet systems
  • Follow ISO 9001 procedures               
  • Ensure high levels of both internal and external customer service
  • Controls Customer Furnished Equipment (CFE) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) per established procedures
  • Establish warehousing space and methods for controlling material non-conformances
 
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Work will be performed in a warehouse environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see (must be able to stand for long periods of time)
  • Must be able to lift 70 pounds repeatedly during the course of the workday
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
