Summary                                                                                                                                                                                                                          
The Production Operator will perform basic assembly and system integration activities within a production environment involving steel stud framing, plywood sheeting, flooring installation, installing off the shelf parts and materials, manufacturing components and hardware from wire assemblies and fastening hardware and circuit board assemblies. 

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 4 – 8 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry
  • Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot and make repairs as needed
  • Knowledge of basic computer technology
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to use standard hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Able to differentiate wiring colors and electrical components
  • High mechanical/electrical aptitude preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task several priorities and possess time management skills
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, basic schematics and work instructions
  • Ability to create a test plan and/or procedures
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance
  • U.S Citizenship is required
 
Responsibilities
  • Assembly of mechanical and electrical components per established process manual
  • Use of power tools and hand tools to complete daily tasks
  • Advanced trouble shooting of mechanical and electrical components using measurement tools and meters
  • Follow all established processes and instructions for process area
  • Continually assess manufacturing documentation to determine adequacy and correctness
  • Communicate any issues to Supervisor
  • Others duties, as assigned
 
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Work may be performed outside in hot and cold desert environments or inclement weather conditions
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, talk, hear and see (must be able to stand for long periods of time)
  • Must be able to lift at least 100 pounds during the course of the workday
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear and other protective equipment as required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be flexible in the ability to support other process areas when needed.
